Margot Robbie recently shared a childhood memory of deciding to fake her own death to scare a babysitter she hated. The actress is known not only for her acting skills, but also for pulling practical jokes on her co-stars on set. Previously, she had the entire cast dressed in pink as a prank to make them more immersed in the world of Barbie.
Multiple news outlets reported that the actress shared a clip of a scene with co-star Ryan Gosling on her Instagram account, writing, “I wanted a new babysitter to come and my old babysitter, Talia, who was like 16, back, and I thought it was so cool. I got this older woman in and I wasn’t happy with it. I thought, ‘Let’s do it,'” he said.
“So I brought a big knife and some ketchup and sprawled naked on the tiles, put the ketchup on, put the knife down and waited about 45 minutes until she found me,” she continued. “But it was worth the wait,” said the actress. “Did she run out of her house screaming?” asked the interviewer. “Oh yeah!” she replied. “You created death yourself,” Ryan Gosling joked, to which Margot smiled and replied, “Yes.”
The actress has embarked on a massive promotional tour to promote her new movie Barbie, which hits theaters July 21st, and as a result, she, her co-stars and director Greta Gerwig have done their best to promote it. Given that the film was released on the same day as Christopher Nolan’s epic biopic Oppenheimer, it was a brilliant strategy. Fans dubbed the whole phenomenon Babenheimer on social media.
