Job saturation in India is no joke. Companies present a ton of his CTC when hiring, but the salary at hand proves to be very low for our blood, sweat, and tears. When we step into the professional world, one of the first things we think about is what to do with our first paycheck. Unfortunately, when you finally get paid, you can only buy tissue rolls to wipe your tears.
In India, a doctor’s salary is as low as 9,000 rupees despite having an MBBS and PhD. The educational institution offers him only 10,000 rupees for a full-time video editor with five years of experience. The fact that we earn peanuts for our efforts is legal and true.
A woman on Twitter recently vented her frustrations about her fresh paycheck
A woman took to Twitter to vent her frustration that 50,000 rupees a month was not enough to survive in a big city. Apparently, it doesn’t lead to savings. Instead of finding someone to sympathize with her, she got a reality check on how low freshmen are paid in India.
The content of the tweet is
“Why is the salary of new graduates so low? How is someone supposed to survive in a big city? With 500,000 a month, there is little savings. Not everyone can receive money from their families. !”

Not everyone can receive money from their family!

Here’s how netizens reacted to her post
Neither do I. My salary was 20,000 when I came to Bangalore. 5k rent (total 10k shared with friends) & 5k food. She saved 2k on other expenses and he saved 8k. If you want to live, you can live. I think it’s in the way you think. I don’t mean to offend you, just wanted to share 😄

This woman needs to refresh her knowledge and curb her greed.
Most fresh graduates are paid less than 20,000 per month. They would be in heaven if offered her 50K/month, which is less than 5% of her salary for fresh graduates.
Even a married person with 5 years of experience cannot earn 50,000 a month.

And who’s a fresh graduate with a salary of 50,000?I’m assuming an IT/software engineer here

@divyaappathak @DalRotiForLife @Solitary Stud bhaiyo freshers ko milne lage kya 50k 😭

Is there a company that pays 50,000 to freshmen? 🙈

Can’t survive 50K??? Seriously? ? ?
— Abhay (@abhaysrivastavv) April 26, 2023
50k is not a fresh paycheck. If he earns 1L a month, he is in the top 10% of the nation.
People survive 15k too. Lifestyle changes.
My first job was 28k – in a tier 1 city – where I lived and enjoyed.
If you want to live with rent of 30,000…

Speaking of which, 50k is not much for a beginner. But if a fresh graduate acts like an Ambani daughter or son, even 50L is definitely less.

There are people in literally hundreds of jobs, earning less than 50,000 a month and supporting families with over 10 years of experience. A world where you live in Bahan where $50,000 isn’t enough to live a happy life?

I wish they offered 50k as starting salary. I haven’t seen any company offering that, at least in Mumbai. They all start like 18-20. Well, yes, it’s silly to think you can survive on that alone. In most cases, it will be just the rent.

I don’t want to preach, but I’ve never earned a 50,000 pm salary (I have a side job, but no salary). Learn to live frugally, save diligently, and invest wisely. Life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry can help you save money.

Another user with experience in hiring new graduates explained why new graduates are paid less.
He said,
As someone who hires freshmen… it’s because their value add right out of college is so low that they can’t afford to pay more. It will be expensive…
