Filmmakers Vivek Agnihotri and Sudhir Mishra participated in a discussion of movies, politics and more uploaded to YouTube. During this conversation, Vivek suggested that no one in the film industry has questioned Bollywood over the past few years, except for him and his actor Kangana Ranaut. Vivek discussed with Sudhir many issues regarding their films, political ideology and the current Indian film audience. As it happened, during this conversation, Vivek asked Sudhir Mishra why he didn’t talk more about Bollywood, and the actor gave the example of Kangana Ranaut.
Vivek says: Except for Kangana and me? (Aside from Kangana Ranaut and me, has anyone questioned Bollywood in the last four or five years?) In response, Sudhir said, “Humari to puri jindagi hi he, question.” Told. (My life is just a question.)
Vivek then pointed out that previously Sudhir was quite vocal about his views in public, but not now. Aap karte the pehle, ab nahi he aap. Aap karte the question, public karte the… Now you quit. Then Sudhir replied. It’s almost as if the film industry is responsible for all the diseases in the world. It is just a reflection of this society. jaise ye samaj he waise hi kuch log he…” (Like society, Bollywood is made up of the same people).
Actor Kangana Ranaut has been pretty vocal about the film industry in his tweets. Recently, after the pattern’s success, Kangana said: It exposes their low standards and the kind of deprived life they live.
Meanwhile, last month, Sudhir tweeted about The Kashmir Files, and his tweet led Vivek to invite him to their podcast. Sudhir said, “Liberals are complaining about the Kashmir File. Why? Vivek Agnihotri made the film and his audience came to the theater to see it. Criticizing audiences don’t come to theaters sitting on their butts sorry I had to say that #afwaah To this Vivek said it’s not war Sudhir was my senior, a famous filmmaker, and I have a lot of respect for him.”
