Modern Love Chennai is the third Indian adaptation of John Carney’s internationally acclaimed original anthology Modern Love. Previous adaptations were Modern Love Mumbai and Modern Love Hyderabad.
The 6-episode anthology features a compelling and unique collection of love stories set in Chennai that delves into relationships, pushes boundaries and expands horizons. The series is set to premiere on his OTT on May 18, 2023.
This anthology series features six accomplished Indian filmmakers: Bharathiraja, Balaji Sakthivel, Rajmurugan, Krishnakumar Ramakmar, Akshay Sundar and Thiagarajan Kumara Raja.
The music for this series has been composed by renowned musicians such as Maestro Ilayaraja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, GV Prakash Kumar and Sean Roldan. The songs are written by Maestro Ilaiyaraaja, Yugavarati and Bakkyam Sankar.
The anthology includes the following episodes:
1. Raragunda Bommaigal – directed by Rajmurugan, composed by Sean Roldan, starring Sri Gowri Priya, Vasudevan Murali and Vasundhara.
2. Imaigal – directed by Balaji Sakthivel, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, featuring Ashok Selvan and TJ Bhanu.
3. Kaadhal Enbadhu Kannula Heart Irukkura Emoji – directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, composed by GVPrakash Kumar, featuring Ritu Varma, Samyuktha Viswanathan, Pawan Alex and Aniiruth Kanakarajan.
4. Margazhi – Directed by Akshay Sundher, music composed by Ilaiyaraaja, featuring Sanjula Sarathi, Chu Khoy Sheng and Srikrishna Dayal.
5. Paravai Kootil Vaazhum Maangal – directed by Bharathiraja, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, featuring Kishore, Ramya Nambessan and Vijayalakshmi.
6. Ninaivo Oru Paravai – directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, featuring Wamiqa and PB.
