“Misleading!” That’s how the Central Committee for Film Certification (CBFC) described the storm Ashok Pandit stirred up in his teacup in the trailer for the upcoming movie 72 Hoorain.
The commission officially said reports that the film’s trailer didn’t get a censorship certificate were misleading because it didn’t paint the full picture. Trailer certification is in due process.
Contrary to reports, the board officially announced that the film “Bahtar Hulain (72 Hulain)” received an “A” certification on October 4, 2019. An application for certification of the trailer for the film directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chohan was filed in June. 19, 2023, due process.
Citing co-producer Pandit, reports that the film’s trailer was denied a censorship certificate now seem like pre-release film promotion. The film depicts how brainwashing by terrorists takes place.
The Commission said the trailer was inspected in accordance with guidelines issued under Section 5B(2) of the Cinematography Act 1952.
“Following this, the applicant was threatened and asked to provide the necessary documents, upon receipt of which certification was granted subject to amendment,” the board said.
“A show-cause notice conveying amendments will be issued to applicants/filmmakers on June 27, 2023, with similar pending on applicants’ response/compliance,” the board added in its explanation. .
