Priyanka Chopra is gearing up for the upcoming release of Prime Video series Citadel. In the series led by the Russo Brothers, Priyanka takes on the role of spy agent girlfriend Nadia Sinh. Priyanka, who launched promotions for Citadel in Mumbai a few weeks ago, said in a recent interview that she wanted to go by her first name only Priyanka, citing the example of Cher and Rekha. says she didn’t audition for Citadel: “People are cast for their merits, not because someone likes them.”)
Priyanka previously revealed many interesting facts about the Citadel and how she came to be part of the project. The actor says Citadel is the first person in her 22-year-old journey as an actor to receive a salary on par with her male counterpart on a series. He revealed that he did not audition for the role of Citadel, even though he had to.
Now, in a recent interview with The Telegraph-t2, the actor was asked about having a household name like Priyanka and how it’s used in Hollywood. “I take full advantage of the fact that I am the only Priyanka most Americans know. But when I come to India, there are at least six Priyankas in the room. (laughs) In India, I got used to being just a PC.But when I go to America, it’s just me.Most of the time, I don’t even use my last name anymore.I want to be like Cher now. Or Leka! Just Priyanka! (laughs) I love it.”
The first season of Priyanka’s spy series Citadel will consist of six episodes, with the first two episodes set to premiere on Prime Video on April 28. Citadel is executive produced by the Russo Brothers and showrunner David Weil, and also stars Richard Madden, Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville.
The actor will begin filming her next feature entitled Head of State of the United Kingdom alongside actors Idris Elba and John Cena. It is also the time when we are on tour. Meanwhile, Priyanka also has Love Again in the pipeline, which premieres in May.
