The Jubilee director took to Instagram to share his overwhelming emotions at witnessing the star-studded premiere, sharing a ton of photos from the film’s screening. The first photo shows the film’s opening title on the screen, with the words “Painting by Martin Scorsese” written in bold type. Another photo showed a movie ticket. He also captured some of the standing ovations the film received at the end of the screening. The last photo of the post showed Vikramaditya and Anurag together.

“Sometimes the words honor and privilege are taken lightly, but not in this case…I was in this cinema, at this moment, watching this man present his film to the world for the first time. Just being there was something else! The last picture of the two kids in the movie would never have been imagined when watching Mean Streets over 20 years ago @shruti_kapoor_21 Thank you for your style,” Vikramaditya wrote in the caption.

Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon received a nine-minute standing ovation after its premiere, making it the longest at the festival to date. Based on David Gran’s classic book, this three-and-a-half-hour film focuses on a series of murders of wealthy Osage tribesmen in Osage County, Oklahoma, in the early 1920s. Critics praised the western as a masterpiece, noting the performance of actor Lily Gladstone.

In a standing ovation, Scorsese also addressed the audience, “Thank you to the Osages. Everyone is connected through painting. My old friends Bob and Leo, and Jesse and Lily. This was Oklahoma a few years ago. It was shot in the states. It took a while for things to turn around, but Apple did a great job for us.There was a lot of grass.I’m a New Yorker.I was very surprised. It was an amazing experience, we lived in that world.”
