“Death in the Gunj” already showed how great Konkona is, but “The Mirror” made me want to see more of her work. The way she captures moods and subtle atmospheres is exquisite.
What is desire? A casual Google search led me to this definition. “to have a strong desire or need, to crave, specifically to have a sexual urge”. In other words, it’s more important than having sex. craving to have sex.Only funny and kinky episodes of Konkona Sen Sharma Last Stories 2 It captures this sense of prohibition.it is called mirrorand it shows we mirror. What are we, the spectators, if not observers and peepers? We get excited to see what’s happening on our screens, big and small. The “screen” here is literally a mirror, and the reflection is of a couple having sex. To further extend the cinematic trope, they are the “actors” and the “audience” is the other. Tilotama Chaumet and Amerta Subhash play two women, a house owner and a domestic helper, whose lives are intertwined. They are great, as are the movies.
