Just a week before his birthday, famous Punjabi film star, director and producer Mangal Dillon, who was battling cancer, died Sunday in a hospital in Ludhiana. he was 48 years old.
Originally from Faridkot, Punjab, Dillon has made his mark in the world of movies and serials.
He has voiced commercials for several years in New Delhi and Mumbai, as well as doordarshan and radio plays.
In 1987, he landed the role of Rubhaya Ram in Ramesh Sippi’s television serial ‘Buniyard’, which laid the groundwork for Mumbai’s film and television industry.
After ‘Buniyad’, he appeared in almost 25-30 Hindi feature films and TV series, among them ‘Yugandhar’, ‘Lakshman Rekha’, ‘Nishana’, ‘Vishvatma’, ‘Kun Bali Man” and “Azad Desh Ke Glam”. ”, “Junoon”, “Panther”, “Gutan”, “Kismat”, “Noor Jahan” and other serials.
Sukvir Badal, president of Siromani Akari Dal, was saddened by Dillon’s death and said it was a huge loss for Indian cinema.
“His captivating voice and theatrical staging will be missed by many. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans,” he tweeted.
