Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have entered the world of Barbie. A Twitter user recreated his popular badminton sequence for the song Dhoom Tana from the 2007 blockbuster “Om Shanti Om.” The sequence has been redesigned by artificial intelligence (AI) into the candy-coated pink of the world of Barbie, as depicted in the new Hollywood version of the Mattel doll by Greta Gerwig. The video features Deepika and Shah Rukh in Farah Khan’s reincarnation play, recreating the iconic song “Dar Gaya Din Ho Gai Shaam” featuring Jeetendra and Reena Chandravarkar from TR Ramanna’s 1970 romantic drama Humjori.

The original segment of Om Shanti Om, part of the “Doom Thana” track, was choreographed and conceptualized by Farah, with Shahrukh and Deepika recreating some of the evergreen songs from Hindi films. The new song features Dua Lipa’s Barbie song “Dance the Night” playing in the background while the two actors, backup dancers and the set are painted pink and lavender.

Twitter handle @qualiteaposts shared the video, captioning it, “Barbie dolls SRK and Deepika (2023).”

About Barbie

With Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, the cast includes America Ferrera, Sim Liu, Dua Lipa, Emerald Fennell, Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera and Will Ferrell. The premise of the film was, “After being banished from the utopia of Barbieland for being less-than-perfect dolls, Barbie and Ken embark on a journey of self-discovery into the real world.”

The Hindustan Times wrote about the Barbie doll: “Ms. Greta is also very much into satire, constantly repeating how she modifies the Barbie doll mythology. So even though she quietly admires the shots fired at every line of dialogue, the humor only comes through occasionally. But the tone, which combines self-awareness and elaborating everything, is consistent throughout.”
