Veteran actor Shabana Azmi has spoken out about her amicable relationship with Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar. Farhan and Zoya are the children of lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar’s first marriage. Shabana recently credited Javed’s first wife Honey Irani for her relationship with Zoya and Akhtar. Javed Akhtar was married to former child artist and author Honey Irani. They had two, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. In 1978 they parted amicably. Later, Javed fell in love with Shabana Azmi and married in 1984. They all share a good relationship with each other and are sometimes seen together during gatherings.

Speaking to Filmfare recently about the bond between Farhan and Zoya, Shaban said: I have a great relationship with them based on friendship and trust. I love Farhan and Zoya so much and I think they love me too. I owe a lot of that credit to my mother Honey (Ilani). I have to say she was very generous. If she had decided that her children wouldn’t be friends with me, they wouldn’t be friends with me. ”
“So I have to honestly admit that it’s because of Honey that I have such a great relationship with her, as well as with her children. We have a beautiful and happy bond.” And I’m not going to poke my nose into their business, and if I feel there’s something they don’t want to talk about, I won’t talk about it,” she added.
Earlier this year, Shabana shared a rare family photo on Instagram. It showed her posing with Javed Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar and his wife Shivani Dhandekar. What made their photo even more special was Honey Irani’s unusual appearance. Shabana shared the photo with the caption, “Hum sab saath saath hain” (we are all together).
Shabana is next set to appear in Karan Johar’s new film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani. Besides Shabana, it also stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan. It will be released on July 28th.
